Glass

1. Sound insulation

Cyprus as a country is very small and most people live in cities, so we are living in a densely populated environment, meaning that noise pollution is high.

We can provide glazing solutions for this problem.

2. Thermal insulation

Solar control glass units allow sunlight to pass through a window or facade while minimizing a large amount of the sun’s heat. Such glass is comprehensively used for buildings in hot climates such as Cyprus. The indoor space stays bright and much cooler than would be the case if normal glass were used.

3. Safety Glass

a) Laminated Glass

In the event of breaking, laminated glass is held in place by an interlayer, typically of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) between its two or more layers of glass. The interlayer keeps the layers of glass bonded even when broken, and its high strength prevents the glass from breaking off in sharp pieces. This produces a characteristic “spider web” cracking pattern when the impact is not enough to completely pierce the glass.

b) Tempered Glass

• Thermally toughened Glass:

This is glass which has been thermally – treated using a method of controlled heating and cooling that locks the surface of the glass in a state of compression.

There is a greater resistance to mechanical shocks.

Tempered Glass offers better durability for glazing exposed to solar radiation with temperature changes which can cause stress in the glass.
When a thermally toughened glass panel breaks, it crumbles into small granular chunks, which means that the risk of injury is very low.

WE OFFER THERMALLY TOUGHENED GLASS CERTIFIED ACCORDING TO STANDARD EN 12150.
